Guidelines (abstract format)

All abstracts need to be written in English, and the authors must have conducted the research study. Abstracts about literature reviews will not be accepted.

Abstract Title: No word count limit; however, short, and sufficiently informative titles will be appreciated.

Authors and Affiliation: Abstracts must be submitted by the presenting author. Co-authors may be added, and each requires a first name, last name, email address, and institution name. Co-authors must be ordered as they should appear in the certificate and Symposium Proceedings.

There is no limit to the number of co-authors; however, it is encouraged not to exceed more than 10. Additional co-authors can be listed in the acknowledgments. The first author must be the main contributor to the study, while the last author must be the senior researcher responsible for the research team.

Abstract Text: The abstract length needs to be between 400 and 500 words and must include sufficient information about the study, including key observed results. Graphic elements such as pictures and figures, or Tables are not permitted.

Keywords: Limited to 5 keywords, which need to be arranged in alphabetical order.

During the Symposium, posters need to be printed in A0 format in portrait position and exhibited in the dedicated exposition hall.

Before submitting, please ensure that your abstract undergoes a thorough check for correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formal structure. All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific committee members, which will consider their formal aspects, and scientific context. The committee will decide which abstracts will be accepted, and they may reconsider the final presentation type. Abstracts deemed unsuitable for presentation will be rejected. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Symposium Proceedings (electronic format). The Scientific Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts, if necessary, before their publication in the Symposium Proceedings.

In case you cover registration fees at the day of the conference, you will receive only certificate for attending the event, but not for presenting scientific work.

The Yakult Scientific Award recognizes the achievements of outstanding scientists who conducted basic or applied research projects on probiotics in the vision of Yakult. The Scientific Committee of the YIS will evaluate the submitted abstracts based on their merit (scientific content, innovation, contribution by the young scientists (not more than 3 year after defending PhD), etc.).

The Scientific Award of the YIS will be conferred to the author of the best oral/poster presentation.

Authors of the posters are encouraged to be at the booth during the time dedicated to the poster presentation to expose and discuss their study.

The winner of the Scientific Award of YIS is encouraged to attend the Award Ceremony on the last day of the Symposium.
